As a writer, I would love to think that eloquent and engaging written content is all that it takes to succeed in the content marketing realm. But if that content isn’t complemented with an eye-catching, high quality image, there is very little chance that your written content will actually be read and shared.
According to this infographic, “articles containing relevant images have 94% more total views than articles without images”, and “67% of consumers say that the quality of a product image is ‘very important’ in selecting and purchasing an image.”
Whether you’re a business or a blogger looking to grow your social media following – especially through channels such as Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest – the ability to create, curate, and strategically share beautifully-edited imagery that will catch the eye of potential followers is imperative.
Relying solely on stock photos and fuzzy camera phone pictures won’t cut it. Your photos need to be clear, captivating, and customized to your own brand’s look and feel. But not everyone has the skills of a professional photographer, so how can the daunting task of creating compelling visual content be achieved?
All it takes is a solid understanding of a few simple digital platforms, such as Photoshop, Instagram, and some basic Smartphone photo-editing apps to take your pictures from drab to fab.
