For over 10 years I’ve worked in the field of marketing, and one thing that I’ve learned is that marketing is an ever-evolving practice. While marketing used to be centered around the marketing mix of the four P’s (product, price, place, promotion) it has become so much more.
With the invention of PVRs, the transition from print to digital news sources, and the introduction of digital radio streaming versus live radio, it has become easier than ever for consumers to avoid the traditional marketing messages. Advertisers have been left to come up with new and innovative ways to reach their audiences – to think outside the box of traditional marketing.
Content marketing. A term first introduced in 1996, content marketing is about shifting your focus from pitching your product or service to generate sales (ie: TV commercials), to connecting with potential consumers through providing valuable, consistent information through quality content, ultimately leading to customer acquisition and loyalty.
At Bee Communications, I strive to help small businesses to create valuable connections through quality content, and to ensure that the brand’s messages are read and shared with their target audiences – ultimately creating buzz for businesses in an authentic and engaging way. If you’re a small business looking to learn more about how you can apply content marketing practices to your overall marketing strategies, I’m here to help!
